Another Step On A Long Journey for Haiti

In April, 2010, a group of 9 World Surgical Foundation volunteer surgeons, nurses and an anesthesiologist traveled to Haiti Adventis Hospital in Port au Prince with the help of Cure International. They performed 45 surgeries and 20 consultations in 4 days, which was a heartbreaking yet inspiring experience. Despite poverty and devastation, the spirit of the people instilled hope among the WSF team who won’t forget Haiti. Plans are underway to return again this year.

A Palawan Sunset

Black Lion Sunrise Part Two

Meet Tariku, a poor Ethiopian boy who was born without an anus and lived with a ragged colostomy since birth 7 years ago. With no colostomy bags, Tariku couldn’t attend school, was shunned by society because of the smell and was a burden to his family. Dr. Domingo Alvear from the World Surgical Foundation repaired his condition at Black Lion Hospital so Tariku could now lead a normal life.
