Key Event: WSF & ICS-US Joint Fundraiser in Chicago on September 7, 2023

August 24, 2023

The World Surgical Foundation and the International College of Surgeons-US Section have created a partnership to better address the surgical burden of disease in underserved countries. This means our mission to take care of patients needing life-saving and life-changing surgical procedures will continue far into the future. It also means we will always have a group of skilled and eager volunteers available to staff our surgical missions.
Our calendar is quite full this year, we will have joint WSF and ICS-US missions to Honduras on September 23 to October 1, 2023 and to the Philippines on February 17 to 25, 2024. We will be also supporting a mission to Nigeria on October 30 to November 15, 2023. In addition, we were able to equip 2 Operating Rooms in Honduras at a cost of $20,000 each and hope to find funds for a 3rd OR. We also sent 21 pallets of equipment and supplies to the Philippines.
We are celebrating this partnership by having our Annual Key Event at the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago, Illinois on September 7, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM. Attached is a letter explaining how you can participate in this event. Please be sure to purchase tickets to attend, or make your donation by visiting www.ficsonline.org/reception as soon as possible. Advance registration will end on September 1.
In addition to the sponsorship opportunities listed in the letter, your donation can help establish Colorectal Clinics to give patients a chance to live without a colostomy. You can also help us adopt a hospital to provide resources to equip the hospital and improve the quality of patient care or sponsor a surgeon and anesthesiologist to go to remote and rural areas of the countries we serve.
Please download our sponsorship and donor letter for more information to participate in this year’s Key Event.
